The faces behind Our Liberty House

Hello! We are Lucas and Beth and we are a husband and wife duo with mid-western roots living in Sacramento, California. We started this blog as a hobby and hope to share our love and passion for gardening, cooking and traveling with all of you! We enjoy getting our hands dirty, making a mess in the kitchen, and traveling this beautiful planet whenever we can.

Beth is from Eastern South Dakota and Lucas grew up in Northern California. We met while in military training in Texas of all places and after a year of long-distance, Lucas made the move to South Dakota where we lived for almost nine years before Beth talked him into moving back to Sacramento (yes, I had to talk him into it).

While we’ve been together for 10 years, we have been married 6 wonderful years! During those years we have renovated a house, built another house, had multiple years of learning to garden and experimenting with different methods and have loved cooking homemade meals the entire way. We have a black lab named Liberty, and two cats, Bruce and Wayne.
