Bacon. Arguably the best meat of all meats. It’s the one that brings joy to everyone’s faces when crisped to perfection. But who likes slaying over the stove and making it in batches? The bacon grease splattering everywhere. Well, we are here today to share with you our recipe on how to bake bacon. Yes. Bake bacon.

We started cooking our bacon this way a little over a year ago and haven’t made it on the stovetop since. It is seriously fool-proof and the bacon is perfect every single time with every piece cooked the same. This method of cooking bacon is perfect for meal prepping too. We usually bake the entire package of bacon even if we only plan to use half of it. We simply chop the bacon for easy bacon bits later (for salads and soups) or place the whole slices in a Tupperware and they are easy to re-heat quickly later in the week. If you’re ready to know our method, let’s go!

How to Bake Bacon to Perfection

First, preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Grab a sheet pan with a baking rack. We love this one shown above found at Target but here is a comparable one on Amazon if you can’t source one locally. Simply lay your bacon out along the entire tray. Bacon tends to shrink when cooked so don’t worry about laying them close together. Once the oven is pre-heated, set the tray of bacon inside and cook for 14-18 minutes.

Yep that’s it!

To review:

400 degrees

14 minutes for floppy bacon

16 minutes for crispy bacon

18 minutes for extra crispy bacon

Note: You can also cook bacon at 425, simply reduce the times above by 2 minutes
